The site is located to the south of the Sale CBD, within the existing Port of Sale Cultural and Civic Precinct and is bound by Desailly Street to the west, McMillan Street to the south, Raymond Street to the east and more generally by The Wedge (Wellington Entertainment Centre) to the north.
A mixed range of uses such as tourism, recreation, commercial and high density residential are expected to be facilitated on the site through the preparation of associated planning provisions.
The site has significant economic/commercial potential as a strategically important component of the overall Port of Sale Precinct.
The site is expected to be declared surplus to the needs of the Department of Education. Council is currently preparing a suite of planning provisions to facilitate future redevelopment.
