Gippsland Regional Health Precinct

Latrobe City is home to Latrobe Regional Hospital, Gippsland’s specialist referral and trauma centre located 150km east of Melbourne and is one of the region’s largest employers with more than 1900 staff. Latrobe Regional Hospital is a purpose-built teaching hospital caring for a population of mor ethan 260,000 people. A $79 million expansion was completed in 2017 and features a larger emergency department, cardiac catheterisation laboratory and two new inpatient units. A further $217 million will soon be invested to build the next stage of Latrobe Regional Hospital’s expansion, delivering an additional 44 new beds, three new operating theatres and two new birthing suites.

There are opportunities for investment in a wide range of health and wellbeing services to complement the specialised care currently offered to the wider Gippsland community. Latrobe City also has industrial land and infrastructure available to support health related manufacturing.
